Digital Shoreditch

I had a lot of fun making something frivolous for family day at the Digital Shoreditch festival with colleagues Thomas and Margaux.

We made an installation where one participant could pump anothers head up into a big balloon! Watch the case study below to see what I mean:

We experimented with the Kinect sensor using open source drivers, but they proved to be quite unstable at the time. In the end we did something fairly simple using a displacement map and motion detection.

Rate my throw

This was a fun little project for on old colleague who’d started his own business Rate My Placement. Myself and Craig conceived and produced a festive Flash game called “Rate my Throw” in which the player is confronted with a member from the team and a barrage of snowballs. The player must use their skill to dodge and throw snowballs until they meet the next challenger, hopefully gaining a good enough score to get to the top of the scoreboard. The game was designed and illustrated by Craig using Flash and powered by my AS3.
