Capital One – ‘Fast’

When Capital One wanted to promote their newly streamlined referrals programme, we came up with a solution that was guaranteed to make a splash. Our task was to generate an exciting and innovative way of conveying the speed of the new employee referral programme.
We created an interactive communication to encourage employees to recommend a friend or member of their family to work at Capital One. I animated and made some hectic music for the ecard, which was very well received and certainly caught the attention of its target audience.
After the success of the first ad, we created a Flash game based on the concept of speed, in which players ‘flipped’ frogs across a virtual lily pond to score points against the clock. I built the game in Flash/ActionScript, made the music and sound effects and added a high-scores table to introduce an element of competition and hence addictiveness. Staff were keen to compare scores with fellow employees and the resulting viral effect in terms of promoting the ERP was therefore quite considerable.
